Smestow School and Sports College

The work done by the Schools Partnership Development Manager has had a major impact on Physical Education and Sport in partner Primary schools of which Uplands is one.

​

This work includes:

• The development of Playground activity and Leadership.

• Transition Programme for pupils transferring to Smestow who may find PE a little difficult.

• All Year 3 and 5 children in the Smestow Family of Schools have taken part in a Festival of Sport at Aldersley Leisure Village.

• For the Year 3 Festival this was supported by Smestow Leaders.

• Children from across the Partnership were invited to the SMILE disability event at Walsall Campus.

 

Wolverhampton RUFC

Several of our children attend Wolverhampton RUFC and we take part in the annual tag rugby event at the club.

Wolverhampton and Bilston Athletics Club

This U.K. athletics affiliated club has been based at Aldersley since 1967. The club is nationally recognised with a history of developing international and national champions as well as providing structured coaching to local athletes. Wolverhampton and Bilston Athletics Club use the indoor and outdoor athletics facilities on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm to 8pm.
