Our subscription for Mathletics is due to come to an end. However, while children are at home, we want them to be able to keep learning – and in an enjoyable way. After pupil voice surveys asking the children what they like in an online platform, we have decided to try a new online resource that will replace Mathletics from the end of this week.
Sumdog is game-based learning encourages children to practise maths that is tailored to their skills. While children choose what they play, the adaptive learning engine guides their learning. Sumdog gets to know their individual strengths and weaknesses and ensures they always work on the right skill. As your child uses Sumdog, the questions are personalised to their level, helping them progress. They're mixed with revision questions, to practise what we've already covered.
We have subscribed to this new resource and your child has been allocated their own account. To make logging on easier, your child’s username and password will be the same as their TT Rock Stars log on details. The school code for Sumdog is uplandsjunior.
If your child does not have their TT Rock Stars log-on at home, please contact school via email and this can be set to you.
Here's how to get your child started on Sumdog:
•Download the app - you can use Android tablets or phones, iPads or iPhones, or Amazon Kindles.
•Use a computer - Sumdog works on all modern browsers. Just go to www.sumdog.com and log in.
•You can also get a free Sumdog parent login, and keep in touch with your child's efforts on Sumdog.
You can find an introduction to Sumdog at the following link: https://pages.sumdog.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Parent-Leaflet-GB.pdf
Together, we can help children keep learning!
