Meet the teacher - current years 3, 4 and 5.

Times and dates for pupils to come and meet their new teacher

As we are unable to open up school to other Year groups, we are delighted to be able to facilitate a short meeting between pupils in current Years 3, 4 and 5 with their new teachers.

Our plan is that if the weather is fine, a table will be set up outside of our main entrance and myself, Mrs Walker and the class teacher will be present. We ask that 1 adult only attends with a child on the dates and times shown. This will purely be a chance for the pupil and parent to say hello to their new teacher and for the teacher to put a face to a name. We hope it may help to alleviate any anxieties that children may have.

You will be given a pack of curriculum knowledge and skills coverage for the next academic year along with a Welcome letter and some basic information such as PE days, homework expectations and staff working in the

year group.

Each teacher has been given a 2 hour slot and you may attend at any time within those 2 hours. We ask that you please observe social distancing guidelines if you have to queue to wait as up to 32 pupils could attend within those 2 hours. There are markings on the pathway on the approach to school.

Classes listed on the table below are the new classes for pupils. If you have been given a morning slot this is from 10am until 12 noon. The afternoon slot is from 1pm-3pm EXCEPT for new 4FR. We are thrilled that Miss Rahim is able to join us but her current employment means she is unable to arrive at Uplands until 2pm so for new 4FR the times are 2pm-4pm

If your child will be in a Key Worker bubble on the date given then the teacher will go and introduce herself to them within school (whilst following safety guidance around bubbles)

If the weather is not good then we will place a table in our entrance area but please be mindful that you may have to queue outside in rainy conditions.

I do hope that many of you will be able to pop along and introduce yourselves to our staff and I personally will so look forward to seeing your children again.

If there are any questions or queries please give school a call or send us an email.
