Letter from Mrs Devi

Hello 4 OD,

It’s really hard to believe that we have been away from school for 7 weeks now. Although I have been into school a few times the place is certainly not the same without you all – there’s no laughter, no one telling me stories first thing in the morning and no one finding my terrible jokes amusing! I really do miss you all.

Like you, I have also been trying to keep busy and have enjoyed the glorious sunshine we have had recently by listening to music whilst going for daily walks. I’ve also discovered my love of badminton again and have enjoyed playing this in the garden. Whilst we are on the subject of gardening, I will tell you of a disaster I’ve had. My gardening skills defiantly need developing, so I thought I would try to sow runner bean and tomato seeds a few weeks ago. To my dismay, the seeds have not germinated, think I might need a few helpful tips from you and join the school Gardening Club! Let me know if you have ‘green fingers’ and managed to plant and grow anything.

I’ve also managed to read a few books and hope you are also reading and completing your school work. It would be lovely to hear about which activities you have particularly enjoyed working on. Can you recommend any exciting books for me to read?

As you may be aware, I am a keen Chess player so we decided to have a family Chess Tournament consisting of several games, we haven’t got to the end yet, but will let you know who wins (hopefully me).

I’ve also rediscovered my love of baking and have baked lemon cupcakes and triple chocolate brownies- they were mouth-wateringly delicious. I will defiantly let you taste some when we meet again. What have you baked or cooked? Share your recipes with me since I would love to try some of them.

I am so looking forward to seeing you all and having a good chat. Keep the Uplands light shining bright and remember everyone, keep smiling, keep safe and look after yourselves and your family since it won’t be long before we are together again. There is always light at the end of a tunnel, so be patient and when all this is over, we will meet again very soon.

My love to you all from the bottom of my heart.

Mrs Devi
