A weekly overview will continue to be uploaded onto our website in the Home Learning section each week. From next week, activities will be set as a daily timetable – there will be one English task, one maths task and one curriculum task per day.
Curriculum tasks for week beginning 15.6.20 will all be based upon our Arts Week theme.
From week beginning 22.6.20, curriculum tasks will be from a range of curriculum areas.
We are moving to using resources from Oak National Academy. This is an online lesson resource devised by the government. The Home Learning overview will provide a link to each specific lesson for each day. Click the link and it will take you directly to the task.
Alternatively, go to https://www.thenational.academy/ - Classroom – Find lessons – Year group – subjects – English. The Home Learning overview will outline which lesson is to be completed each day.
Lessons are split into 3-4 structured parts: starting quiz, teaching video – ‘live lesson’ style delivery, main activity and/or end quiz. Children watch the video and follow the instructions given by the teacher.
Main activities can be completed from the screen onto paper. Children then return to the video where the teacher will go through answers.
For maths, we will be using BBC Bitesize daily lessons. A link for each year group is included on the Home Learning overview. Click the link and it will take you directly to the BBC daily lesson page. From here, click on the maths lesson.
Children will need to watch the videos or read through the lesson slides.
There is then an activity to complete. These are taken from a range of sources so tasks are varied and more engaging. These activities can be done from the screen onto paper. Answer sheets are given for every task.
You can continue to use the daily videos at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/. White Rose and BBC content both focus on the same daily objective.
There will be weekly lessons on Science, topic based Creative Curriculum (Art/D&T/History/Geography), RE, Music, French and Rights Respecting.
All activities will be uploaded onto our website in the Home Learning folder. For most activities, children will be able to complete the task from the screen onto paper. We will be mindful to reduce the amount of printing required.
