A message of thanks

Dear parents, carers and pupils,

As we approach the Easter weekend and the end of the 3rd week of lockdown I wanted to take the chance to write to you all.

This current situation is very difficult for everyone and I sincerely hope that you are all staying safe and keeping well. We all know that the best thing we all can do is to stay home so that we can support our NHS workers and stop the spread of this virus.

A reminder that I am checking the school emails every day and so if you need to get in touch with anyone please send your message to I will either answer you myself or forward on to another staff member to assist you. School is open every day (except this Bank holiday weekend) and we have a skeleton staff working on a rota system.

I would like to thank all my staff for their support in keeping school open as the Government has requested so that frontline workers can carry on with their crucial work. Staff have been a constant support to myself and the leadership team and I know that they will do all that they can to ensure the transition back into school (whenever that may be) will be as smooth and happy as we can make it. Thank you for all the work that is being done from home by staff.

My thanks also go to our Governors who remain in touch with school and I know will be there to support us when it is time to re-open.

Thank you to you our parents and families. We wish you well in your self-isolation and thank you for all your efforts to home educate your children. We have reviewed what we provide you with and from April 20th each year group will be uploading activities on a weekly basis to make things easier for you to manage. Please know that we are already starting to think about how we pick up “learning” when school reopens.

Finally a message for the children:

We know that this is not an easy time when you should be enjoying your Easter break and you will want to be outside with your friends or going out on day trips. You are doing brilliantly and we are all so very proud of you. Keep listening to the message to stay home and keep safe and know that this is the right thing to do. This time will pass and we look forward to happy days at Uplands returning. We are all missing you and thinking about you. We look forward to welcoming you back to school when our Prime Minister tells us it is safe to re-open. Be kind and Keep smiling

Wishing you all a Happy Easter with your families
